About the founder Byron Grant

For the last 30 years Byron has been training horses, he team ropes, and has a breeding program on his horse ranch in Roosevelt UT. We asked him some questions about his company and his new products Hi-Tech Halters.

Why did you start this business?

Because the conventional halters that you buy aren’t adequate to keep a horse tied and secured. In my horse training business we had seen a lot of accidents due to the result of halter failure. When the halter breaks the horse can flip over backwards. A horses brain is located in the top of it’s head, there have been a lot of horses killed and many have also become retarded after flipping over because of a halter breaking. This is aside from all of the other problems rolling over can cause to their back, their neck, and their vertebrae.

I began experimenting for myself and created the halter you see today. People started asking where I got the halters and when I said I had made them myself they would ask me to make one for them. Everyone wanted one. As the halter increased in popularity, I decided to create this company Hi-Tech Halters to meet the demand.

Who was this company made for?

Anyone who works with or owns horses needs these halters. You don’t want to use an inferior product that creates a risk for your horse or the horse of one of your clients. Once a horse pulls back and breaks a conventional halter it is much more difficult to fix the problem of pulling back and to keep the horse from breaking another halter.

Hi-Tech Halters are not only user friendly, but are virtually unbreakable by any horse. Your horse doesn’t need to be rank or unruly to use this halter. They are designed for every day use on any horse.

I am the ride manager for the AERC sanctioned Grand Island Ride. I saw your site and love your halters in fact, I just ordered a halter for my own training program. I am wondering if you would be interested in donating a halter or two for our awards? I put on a 50 mile endurance, 25 endurance, and 25 competitive ride on saturday, and a 25 endurance and 25 competitive ride on sunday. Oh and it is always during memorial day weekend. If you would consider donating you can send the product to U.P. Distance Riders. What I have done with other donations is have the company send flyers and order forms and will put them out for the other riders to see and I have found that people will order the same product that was given as an award because they can see the product in person. Please consider this opportunity to bring more business to your company as you do have a great product. Thank you, Jamie Wilken
